Golden Flour café comes from a lifelong fascination with solving problems through testing and experimentation.

As an individual with Celiac disease (gluten intolerance), our founder, Nieshia Williams, set out to find the perfect flour blend that does not sacrifice texture or flavor. As a new Black-owned business, Golden Flour strives to serve Washington, D.C. with flavorful baked goods and a shared sense of community.

Our café seeks to serve indulgent baked goods made from simple and locally sourced ingredients. Our alternative flour blend is grain-free, gluten-free, nightshade-free, and mimics the textures found in gluten-containing wheat flours, while also having a robust nutritional value.
